Terms · effective 27 August 2026
The deal, in plain words.
Short, because the product is simple: an app you run on your own Mac, and a subscription that opens half of it.
1. Who you are agreeing with
ZenHive is operated by [registered legal entity] (“we”, “us”). By downloading, installing, or using the ZenHive app, or by using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not, do not use it.
2. What you may do with the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use ZenHive on Macs you own or control, for as long as these terms are kept. You may not resell it, rent it, sublicense it, or redistribute it; you may not reverse engineer it except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded; and you may not work around the subscription check or use a licence issued to somebody else.
ZenHive is a tool for reading your own messages on your own Mac. Using it to read somebody else’s messages, or on a machine you are not entitled to use, is a breach of these terms and quite possibly of the law where you live.
3. What is free and what is paid
Browsing your messages is free, with no account and no time limit. Follow Up, the Leaderboard, and sending replies from inside ZenHive require an active ZenHive Pro subscription. We may change what sits on which side of that line for future releases, but we will not move something you are currently paying for behind a second, additional charge.
4. The trial
Signing in inside the app starts a 14-day trial of the paid sections. No card is asked for and nothing is charged when it ends — the paid sections simply close, and the free half carries on. One trial per person and, where enforced, per Mac.
5. Subscriptions and billing
ZenHive Pro is $20 per month, or $200 per year, in US dollars and exclusive of any tax we are required to add. Payments are taken by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the price in force when they renew, until cancelled. If a price changes, the change applies from your next renewal and you will be told before it happens.
6. Cancelling and refunds
Cancel at any time from your account, which opens Stripe’s billing page. Cancelling stops the next payment and leaves the paid sections open until the end of the period you have already paid for; nothing is pro-rated and nothing is deleted.
If ZenHive is not what you hoped, write to support@zenhive.co within 14 days of a charge and we will refund it. Where local consumer law gives you a longer or stronger right of withdrawal, that law wins over this paragraph.
7. Your data
Your messages stay on your Mac and we never receive them, so you retain everything you already had and we take on nothing. What the server does hold, and for how long, is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
8. Requirements, availability, and updates
ZenHive needs macOS 26.2 or later on an Apple silicon Mac, Full Disk Access, and Messages signed in. Having conversations read on-device additionally needs Apple Intelligence; without it, Follow Up ranks by your reply habits alone. We may ship updates, including ones that require a newer macOS, and we may withdraw a build that turns out to have a security problem — a withdrawn build asks to be updated rather than silently misbehaving. The licensing service is provided as-is and without an uptime guarantee, though the app keeps working offline for up to seven days between checks.
9. No warranty
ZenHive is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Follow Up is a ranking, not an oracle: it will sometimes surface a conversation that wanted nothing and miss one that did, and it is not a substitute for your own judgement about who you owe a reply.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for lost profits, opportunities, or relationships arising from your use of ZenHive. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death, personal injury, or fraud.
11. Ending it
You may stop using ZenHive at any time by deleting it; take it out of Full Disk Access and it can see nothing at all. We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms, that is being used to abuse the licensing service, or where we are required to by law. If we end your subscription other than for a breach, we will refund the unused part of the period.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be dated at the top and, for subscribers, announced by email before they take effect. Continuing to use ZenHive after that is how you accept them.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by [governing law and courts], without regard to conflict of law rules, and without depriving you of the protection of the consumer law of the country you live in.
